N.B. to encourage the use of environmentally-friendly chemicals this is sold at a competitive rate per litre treated compared to most non-bio products. Use of Electric hook-ups. For your safety please ensure you have a proper outdoor campers, rcb-protected socket and cable with a male 3 pin outdoor 240 volt cable of appropriate IP rating and thickness. If you do not, we have them for hire or purchase in the shop. Camping Meadow
Traditional campers who do not need electricity and wish to pick a spot amongst an unspoilt meadow full of orchids and other wild flowers prefer our 10 acre camping field. This field is only open during the summer months and offers free hot showers and toilets in two portable units on the field. These are kept clean but are a simple no-frills facility. Superb views towards Eaton and Alsop Dale may be enjoyed from the south-eastern side of the Camping Meadow which has a sunny orientation and copses of sheltering trees. The number of tents on the meadow land is restricted to 50 maintaining the same ratio of showers and toilets to caravans or tents as is found in the main pitching area. For this reason, campers on the Camping Meadow may not use Barbecues and camp fires are permitted provided campers contain them off the ground in a fire pit or barbecue and do not damage or destroy plants or trees on site foraging for timber or charcoal. Both charcoal, barbeques, fire pits and firewood may be purchased or hired from the on-site shop. Wild campers are offered a choice of isolated pitches perched on the hillside overlooking Eaton Dale. The pitches do not have power and are several 100 metres walk from the amenity building within the pitching area. They do however have stunning views over the surrounding countryside and (unlike Wild Camping on most hillsides) it is possible to walk to a warm under-floor heated shower or have a nice pint in front of a roaring fire. Rivendale has two large 4 berth tents that may be hired on these pitches and a Yurt with heating stove and supply of seasoned logs.
