The Prancing Pony Pub

The attractive stone stable buildings have been converted into Bar, a family room for adults and children - which includes a large flat screen television, games machine and pool table for added entertainment - and a lounge bar for over 16’s, with a blazing wood-burning stove in the winter.
Dogs are welcomed in the Bar in the evenings, although not permitted in the restaurant – those with dogs will prefer to have their food served to them in the Bar.
The Prancing Pony Pub offers a selection of various soft and alcoholic drinks available for purchase by guests. Various larger, beer and cider are available on tap and by traditional hand pump. Our standard wine list is deliberately brief but offers exceptional value for money. We do however work directly with a wine merchant  (rather than through a brewery) who can source a wide range of vintages on a sale or return basis to suit your requirements.
Fresh Lavazza Barista coffee is also served in the evenings from our state of the art Barista Machine, as well as tea's or gourmet hot chocolates.

The Stables Restaurant
Buy the best ingredients, keep things simple, cook things to perfection
stables restaurant
... this is the philosophy at The Stables Restaurant at Rivendale. All our meat is sourced from an excellent local butcher who buys the best meat - most of it local, much of it organic, hangs it for a lengthy period to allow the flavour to develop, and does not inject it with water etc.
The Bar and lounge are situated on the first floor of the main building, whereas the Stables
Restaurant is on the ground floor. This room has been separated in order to accommodate for disabled guests which has a level access for wheelchairs. Dogs (other than guide dogs) are not admitted to The Stables restaurant on the ground floor. Non-ambulant clients may also enjoy a drink (without a meal) by waiter service in this room which has a roaring log-fire in winter and traditional limestone flagged floor with under-floor heating.

In addition to our usual menu (see below), Rivendale has Mexican and Hawaiian barbeques and other themed nights over the year see our what's on page for information. We are happy to cater for special occasions including corporate meetings, birthdays, Christmas lunches, weddings and so forth.

Use of Local, High Quality Ingredients

Our aim is to provide tasty, simple food using the best local ingredients at affordable prices. Contrary to the expectations of most people, our food and drink is usually LESS expensive than the equivalent drink or meal in a local pub.

Our chef purchases most of her meat from a local butcher who in turn sources his animals from the surrounding farms. The meat is properly hung and is not injected with water or any other rubbish calculated to increase the weight (and decrease the flavour). His meat is also available for purchase in the shop next to reception.
