The attractive stone stable buildings have been converted into a family room for adults and children and a lounge bar for over 16’s with a blazing wood-burning stove in the winter. Well-behaved dogs are allowed in both rooms with a comprehensive menu on offer (see What's On page for availability). Meals are offered to suit most dietary requirements including vegetarians and celiacs - with a list of ingredients provided in the back of the menu to assist those with special diets.

Dogs (other than guide dogs) are not admitted to The Stables restaurant on the ground floor which has a level access for wheelchairs. Non-ambulant clients may also enjoy a drink (without a meal) by waiter service in this room which has a roaring log-fire in winter and traditional limestone flagged floor with under-floor heating.

Booking is necessary for groups of 8 and above. Families with children are advised to try and order before 7 p.m. during busy times.

Use of Local, High Quality Ingredients

Our aim is to provide tasty, simple food using the best local ingredients at affordable prices. Contrary to the expectations of most people, our food and drink is usually LESS expensive than the equivalent drink or meal in a local pub.

Our chef purchases most of her meat and meat products from a local butcher who in turn sources his animals from the surrounding farms. The meat is properly hung and is not injected with water or any other rubbish calculated to increase the weight (and decrease the flavour). His meat is also available for purchase in the shop next to reception.

In addition to our usual menu, Rivendale has special barbeque, Mexican and other themed nights over the year and we are happy to cater for special occasions including corporate meetings, birthdays, xmas lunches, weddings and so forth.
